What can we expect in the future market for Bluetooth Technology?  

Bluetooth is the leading technology that is used for communication in today’s world. over 14 million devices which are expected release to the market in 2020 will include Bluetooth technology while 5.1 The standard of Bluetooth will be expected to use for these new devices. BSIG (Bluetooth Special Interest Group) has defined this technology has special because it includes three new features that are compared to the older version of Bluetooth.

What are the technical methods used in Bluetooth 5.1?


The old version of Bluetooth (5.0) can identify only the distance of the two devices but the new version of Bluetooth able to identify the direction of the devices and the distance of the devices. Combine of those two technologies leads to born of this new feature of Bluetooth, (AoA – Angle of arrival) and (AoD – Angle of Departure) use to identify the right direction of the device.

We can identify three main features of Bluetooth

  1. Normally a Bluetooth device (Client Device) when trying to establish a new connection, it uses a considerable time of period to search nearby devices which is possible to connect. This period leads to battery wastage. But in a new Bluetooth version able to identify devices that is possible to connect in a short time of period with minimum battery power.
  2. Not interrupt to other communication devices is a quality embed with this technology, this technology is called a spread spectrum frequency hopping. With this technology when a Bluetooth device trying to build a connection with another device, it will broadcast 79 each other different frequencies of channels to establish a connection with another device. This procedure is very fast and properly executed and with this technology a Bluetooth device able to broadcast over 1600 frequencies in a second.
  3. Above the method also called Bluetooth advertising. With this method Bluetooth devices able to establish their connection in a short period because of the advertising of both divides. In Bluetooth 5.1 a The Bluetooth device uses certain each other different channels to build a connection with other devices. But on new Bluetooth technology uses randomized advertising indexing which able to build a connection using any channel in a short time of period with a high rate of data transmission.

  5. User does not require a switch on to enable Bluetooth, it’s capable of automatically identify devices to connect and build a network. This type of network called a PAN (Personal Area Network). Also, it called a piconet.

Does Bluetooth harm human health?

currently, there is no impact on human health from Bluetooth because it’s using low strength of signal frequency (1mW-100mW). This frequency is lower than the signal frequency used by mobile phones and radios.

Normally Bluetooth devices using a low radio signal range (2.40GHz-2.48GHz). transfer rate varies according to the Bluetooth version.

What is the difference between Bluetooth versions?

First, the version of Bluetooth (1.0) has only used for commercial purposes, because It’s was not cable to use with other technologies. Bluetooth 1.2 is faster than 1.0. With Bluetooth 2.0+EDR able to transfer data with 3Mbps of rate and it’s was named as Enhanced Data Rate. In Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR has increased and with Bluetooth 3.0+HS able to transfer data with Mbps of speed.

Bluetooth 4.0 LE, has named has Low energy. This technology was enhanced to communicate with multiple devices.

On 2010-06-30 was introduced Bluetooth 4.0. It’s was enhanced to transfer data speed of 250Mbps. While transfer data at a high level of speed with low battery power is one special feature in this version and it’s called smart Bluetooth. Each and every Bluetooth version after 4.0 capable to develop with enhanced features so all of them are called smart Bluetooth.
Within these Bluetooth versions, Bluetooth 4.2 is the best Bluetooth version which is included with the best Bluetooth features has introduced in 2014-December-02. Currently, we are using this version.    The version of Bluetooth is each other different, according to the standard of Bluetooth and features of smart Bluetooth.
Bluetooth has a high level of personal security and a high data transfer rate with the ability to exchange data with minimum time with low battery usage.

Bluetooth 5.0 has introduced on 2016-06-16. Transfer rate of this version is 480 Mbps and it’s capable to transfer data in 800m of distance
